The View Carriage Home

Perched on the slopes of Maple Mountain overlooking the Cowichan Valley, the View Carriage Home was thoughtfully designed to maximize both functionality and panoramic lake views.

Designed by Rustic Traditions Design Inc., this custom-built carriage home features 2,002 square feet of finished living space across three levels, combining elevated design with highly practical everyday living.

A dramatic front entry staircase leads to the main living area, where an open-concept kitchen, dining, and living space creates a bright and welcoming atmosphere. Large windows and outdoor living areas were carefully positioned to capture views overlooking Quamichan Lake and the surrounding valley landscape.

The upper level includes three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a dedicated laundry area, creating a comfortable and efficient layout for family living.

Designed with both lifestyle and utility in mind, the home also includes a 1,543-square-foot oversized garage with space for a large RV, multiple vehicles, storage, and workshop use. In-slab heating on the ground level and a convenient powder room off the garage add additional comfort and functionality.

Outdoor living was a major focus of the design. A large timber-framed sundeck and private Juliette balcony off the primary bedroom create seamless indoor-outdoor connection while taking full advantage of the property’s elevated setting.

Every aspect of The View Carriage Home was custom designed to reflect the homeowners’ vision, resulting in a truly personalized space built to support both everyday living and long-term value.
