The Made to Last team feels blessed to live and work in the beautiful Cowichan Valley.  We want to share that good fortune with others and help build a strong community. Being able to give back has opened our eyes to what really matters and encouraged us to do even more. It is something we feel called to do. We wish everyone could share a similar experience.

Giving Back Abroad: Dominican Vision

Made to Last supports Dominican Vision, a registered charity that operates on the north coast of the Dominican Republic. We have traveled on multiple occasions over the years to the Dominican Republic to help build homes for people in need. We have also helped build schools and other community centers in areas experiencing extreme poverty. In addition, we bring compassion suitcases filled with medical supplies, tools, and clothes for those in need. The medical clinics we help support give assistance to those unable to afford a doctor. We also bring food hampers to families who suffer from extreme poverty and, often, AIDS.

Giving Back Locally: 100 Men Who Care

Made to Last is a member of 100 Men Who Care Cowichan Valley. This group supports a number of local charities, organizations, and associations each year. This year, we have supported charities such as:

Nourish Cowichan
Nourish Cowichan is a society whose main purpose is to provide nutritious meals to school children of the Cowichan Valley, supporting them in reaching their full potential.

Cowichan Therapeutic Riding Association
This association provides therapeutic riding and equine-based wellness programs for persons with special needs.

Cowichan Family Life Association
This association grew out of a grassroots movement driven by concerned and caring people, who believed counseling services should be available to everyone and that people could learn the fundamental skills to provide quality counseling support.

Cowichan Valley Basket Society
A Food Bank whose mission is to ensure no individual or family in the Cowichan Valley goes hungry either physically, spiritually, or emotionally.

We also donate to Duncan Christian School.
